One of the first fantasy toys that caught my eye was Wake the Dragon. I first had the pleasure of being introduced to Wake while I was scrolling through Etsy late one night. Looking for a new toy to add to my chest of drawers, I stumbled upon a cute little shop called FairyLustFantasy. They had fantasy dildos of all different kinds including dragons, tentacles, horses, aliens, werewolves, tongues, and even the cutest little cactus dildo I have ever seen! Their dragon series includes 8 different dragons: Jake, Drake, Wake, Aross, Urvis, Borsake, Kulrake, and Blake.
*Side Note: For those of you who did not grow up on D&D, you may be asking what is a Dragon? A dragon is a massive, flying serpentine mythological creature. Dragons come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Some dragons are even elemental. Now that I have officially bored you with my nerdy knowledge, let's continue.
What makes Wake so special?
Wake is a 6.7 inch 100% body-safe silicone dragon dildo with a head circumference of 4.7 inches and a shaft circumference of 6.7 inches. The total usable length is 5.9 inches. Wake has a textured and bumpy shaft which also features a “knot” right above the base. I love to personalize my toys so it was a no-brainer to turn Wake into my perfect little sea dragon! FairyLustFantasy offers split colors or marbled colors. I chose the split colors. My Wake has a glow in the dark green shaft with a neon blue base. Unfortunately, I was unable to customize the firmness. The default firmness that came with Wake is Medium (Shore hardness 20 A). The price was definitely in my ballpark being only $49 at the time.
One thing I absolutely hate - getting toys in the mail and they are NOT in discreet packaging. Like Mr. Johnson can’t tell I just received a giant penis when the box has a photo on it… Ugh! Since this was my first Etsy sex toy purchase, I was nervous. After placing my order, my package arrived in just 9 days! The package was a discreet brown box with a standard shipping label. Opening the package revealed paper stuffing with Wake wrapped in plastic material. Inside the package were cleaning instructions, before and after instructions, and a detailed receipt.
Let me remind you, Wake is my first fantasy dildo. When I pulled Wake from the plastic, I couldn't help but stare. The neon blue base was a perfect contrast to the bright glow in the dark green. Anxiously, I ran into the bathroom and held Wake up to the lights for a few minutes (actually until my arms got tired so most likely less than two minutes) and turned off the lights. Wake was as bright as Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber. I would be lying if I told you I didn’t make the “whoosh” noise while pretending to duel in the bathroom.
When we look at the structure of Wake, we can see the slightly pointed tip. This design is perfect for easier penetration and helps you prepare for what is to come. Once you pass the tip, you begin to notice the ridges and curve of Wake. The curve positions the tip to rub against your g-spot while slowly taking every little dip and bump. The outside edge of the curve has what I can only describe as “spines” that stick out ever so slightly. Feeling these little textured spines while sliding down is an amazing feeling on its own. Now to the best part, the knot. Honestly, the feeling of the knot is my favorite. The knot isn’t extreme and doesn’t cause an overwhelmingly stretched feeling while you slide down on it. I was beyond excited the first time I “took the knot”. Now it did take me a little warming up before I was able to take the knot fully. Lube, arousal, and determination is all it took to accomplish that feat for me! I've enjoyed Wake multiple times since then both vaginally and anally. Although I have not tried Wake as a strap on, due to the shape of the base it is compatible with a harness.
While everything sounds cheery and bright, let me inform you of the downfalls with Wake. Since my purchase, Wake is now able to be customized further. When I bought Wake, you could only select split colors and only certain models were able to have a suction cup and vibration. Currently, Wake can be customized with an accessory hole to fit the suction cup accessory or a vibrating bullet. This was a downfall for me because I missed out and wasn't able to upgrade my Wake. Being able to have Wake mounted on the wall would’ve been a lot easier than attempting to ride it on a flat surface. Another downfall is that I would’ve enjoyed Wake in a softer firmness. While the firmness was pleasurable, it did not bend to my will and allow me to position it in the exact spot I wanted and craved. Fortunately for whomever purchases Wake now, it is softer and listed as Shore Hardness 10 A!
*Remember - when cleaning a sex toy that has ridges, texture, bumps, crevices, etc. ALWAYS DEEP CLEAN! Wake requires you to clean after every use to ensure the elimination of any germs, bacteria, smells, yeast, or mold.
Final Thoughts?
Wake is an adorable dragon with a set of ridges to show attitude. The knot isn’t something to be feared. It may even change your mind about being knotted and turn you on to attempting bigger toys for a filled to the brim feeling. The colors are gorgeously vivid and the shape is worthy of your attention. I will enjoy my time with my sea dragon as I will be cruising that ocean with all the waves of pleasure a girl can get. This princess knows dragons are a hot commodity!
